Man charged after alleged assault, road rage - Sydney

A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault and road rage incident in Sydney earlier this week.
About 1am on Monday 17 February 2025, officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command received a report that the drivers of a Toyota and Subaru were allegedly involved in an argument on Hickson Road, Barangaroo, before the driver of the Subaru exited his vehicle and allegedly kicked the Toyota multiple times.
A further argument continued before the driver of the Toyota – a 21-year-old man – was allegedly punched to the side of the face.
He was not injured.
About 6.15pm on Wednesday 19 February 2025, Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were called to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, after reports a man driving a Subaru north along the bridge was allegedly driving in a dangerous manner and wielding a meat cleaver towards other drivers.
Upon arrival, police located the knife on the roadway which was seized for forensic examination.
There were no reports of injuries.
About 11.10am today, Thursday 20 February 2025, officers attached to The Hume Police District and Highway Patrol stopped a Subaru on the Hume Highway, Breadalbane, About 25kms west of Yass.
The driver – a 20-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
He was charged with use knife in public place – cause person to fear for safety, common assault and destroy or damage property.
He was refused bail and will appear before Goulburn Local Court tomorrow (Friday 21 February 2025.
