Man charged after knives and ammunition seized - Operation Kella

A man has been charged with multiple knife offences after knives and ammunition were seized in Sydney’s north west.
About 11.05pm on Friday (21 February 2025), officers attached to Operation Kella, North West Metropolitan Region, were conducting pro-active patrols on Cartwright Crescent, Lalor Park.
Police sighted a group of 10 people gathered outside the front of a house.
Police spoke to a 21-year-old man at the location who was subject to a search, allegedly locating a folding knife in his pocket, which was seized.
A subsequent vehicle search was conducted and police allegedly located and seized two large machetes, two large hunting knives, folding knife, metal baseball bat, metal knuckle duster, balaclava, a .22 bullet, and 22 grams of cannabis.
The man was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station, where he was charged with nine offences – six counts of custody of knife in public place - first offence, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess prohibited drug and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court yesterday (Sunday 23 February 2025), where he was granted conditional bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 6 March 2025.
