Homicide Squad detectives have released CCTV as they continue to investigate the death of Bol Deng at Fairfield Heights exactly one year ago.

About 8:30am on Tuesday 27 February 2024, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to an address on Stella Street in Fairfield Heights, following reports of a shooting.

On arrival, police located the body of a 20-year-old man, who was formally identified as Bol Deng.

About 1.20pm the same day, police were called to Hunt Street in Guildford West, following reports an allegedly stolen Toyota Camry was alight.

About 2.45am on Thursday 29 February 2024, an allegedly stolen grey Nissan Dualis was set alight on Denison Street in Carramar.

Crime scenes were established at all three locations and State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Gaul.

Police will allege the murder of Bol Deng was a retaliation for the murder of Alen Moradian which occurred in June 2023 at Bondi Junction.

In December 2024, a man was charged with accessory to murder and remains before the courts.

As inquiries continue, detectives have today (Thursday 27 February 2025) released CCTV as part of an appeal for information into Bol Deng’s murder, exactly one year on.

The CCTV shows an unknown man, dressed in all black, enter an allegedly stolen black Mercedes Benz on Stella Street immediately after the shooting.

It then shows an unknown man, dressed in all black, being dropped on Phillip Street in Guildford West about 1.20pm the same day, who jogs toward an allegedly stolen Toyota Camry and sets it alight before running up Phillip Street.

CCTV then captures an allegedly stolen Nissan Dualis on Denison Street in Carramar about 3am on Thursday 29 February 2024, before an unknown man sets it alight and flees through Studley Park.

Investigations under Strike Force Gaul continue.
