Man dies in hospital a month after crash - South Lismore

A man has died at a hospital after a crash last month in the state’s north.
Emergency services were called to Casino Street, South Lismore, about 10.40am on Saturday (25 January 2025), following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District were told a motorcycle and a sedan had collided with the rider ejected from his motorcycle.
The rider – a 19-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of sedan – a 80-year-old woman – and her passenger – a 82-year-old man – were taken to Lismore Base Hospital for further treatment with minor injuries.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with the assistance of crash investigators, commenced.
Last Monday (25 February 2025), police were informed that the rider had died in the Gold Coast University Hospital.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
