Police have charged three teenagers over multiple break and enter offences in the Greater Sydney area.
In February 2025, Strike Force detectives commenced an investigation into a number of break and enters at multiple locations across Sydney on Tuesday 18 February 2025.
About 12.50am a group of people broke into a business on Norton Street, Leichhardt, before they stole a cash register and left the scene.
About 1.50am, a group of people broke into a business on Glenwood Park Drive, Glenwood, before they stole a cash register and bottles of alcohol and left the scene.
Just after 2am, a number of people broke into two businesses on Dunmore Street, Wentworthville, before they stole a cash register, food and drink.
About 3.15am, a group of people entered three businesses at a shopping centre on Jersey Road, Plumpton, before an amount of cash were stolen
It is believed an amount of cash along with food, alcohol and beverages were stolen and approximately $70,000 worth of damage were caused to local businesses in the areas.
Police established multiple crime scenes and commenced an investigation into the incidents.
Initial inquiries alleged the incidents were all linked, and the group were travelling in a stolen SUV.
Following, extensive inquiries, on Thursday 27 February 2025, detectives arrested three teenage boys – two aged 15, and one aged 16 – in the North St Marys, Werrington and Prospect areas.
Two 15-year-old boys were taken to Penrith Police Station and the 16-year-old boy was taken to Blacktown Police Station where they were all charged with following offences:
- Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (eight counts)
- Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and
- Fail to comply digital evidence access order direction
They were all refused bail to appear at children’s court tomorrow (Friday 28 February 2025).
