Sixth person charged after fatal stabbing in Shellharbour - Strike Force Feods

A teenage girl will face court over a fatal stabbing in Illawarra region last month.

About 3pm on Tuesday (28 January 2025), emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, where a 25-year-old man was found suffering serious stab wounds.

He was treated NSW Ambulance paramedics however, he could not be revived.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District established Strike Force Feods and commenced an investigation into the incident with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

Initial investigations revealed the man had allegedly been stabbed while being assaulted by a number of people.

Police have charged five people – a 38-year-old woman, a 15-year-old boy and three boys aged 13 – in relation to the incident; they remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, about 9.30am today (Thursday 27 February 2025), police arrested a 12-year-old girl.

She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she was charged with affray, and assault occasioning aggravated bodily harm in company of others.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at children’s court on Tuesday 25 March 2025.
