Man dies after being found unconscious in surf - Port Macquarie

A man has died after being found unconscious in the surf at Port Macquarie yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Town Beach shortly before 5pm (Sunday 2 March 2025), when the man was discovered unresponsive by swimmers, who brought him to shore and commenced CPR.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 74-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District have been told the man was unable to be revived.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
