Three people charged following investigation into alleged suspicious fire at Prospect - Strike Force Lisburn

Three people have been charged following an investigation into an alleged suspicious business fire in Sydney’s west last year.

Detectives attached to Blacktown Police Area Command established Strike Force Lisburn after fire damaged a business on Aldgate Street, Prospect, between 8.30pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and 4pm on Wednesday 25 December 2024.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following enquiries, strike force detectives, with the assistance from North West Metropolitan Operational Support Group, executed search warrants at a house on Blacktown Road, Blacktown, and a business on Aldgate Street, Prospect.

During the search warrants strike force officers located and seized large amounts of illicit tobacco products, nunchaku, three slingshots, and five batons.

Three people – a 49-year-old woman and two men, aged 29 and 53 – were arrested at the Blacktown address and were taken to Blacktown Police Station.

The younger man was charged with conceal serious indictable offence of other.

The woman was charged with conceal serious indictable offence of other and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

They were both granted conditional bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 13 March 2025.

The older man was charged with dishonestly for gain damage property by fire/explosive, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and damage property by fire/explosive.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court Wednesday 19 February 2025, where he was further refused bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 6 March 2025.
