Raptor Squad have charged three people following an investigation into alleged firearm supply in Sydney’s south.
About 11.35am yesterday (Wednesday 5 March 2025) Raptor Squad officers stopped a vehicle in St Peters after leaving an address on the Princes Highway at Rockdale.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located a loaded glock pistol.
The driver of the car, a 30-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with 11 firearm and ammunition related offences including possess unregistered unauthorised pistol in public place and possess loaded firearm public place.
The man was refused bail to appear in Newtown Local Court today (Thursday 6 March 2025).
With assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit, a subsequent search warrant was executed at the Rockdale unit.
Two men, aged 27 and 25, attempted to flee from police over the balcony; however, were arrested next door.
During a search of the unit, police located and seized two Dedicated Encrypted Criminal Communication Devices (DECCDs), illicit drugs and $15,000 cash.
The men were also taken to Kogarah Police Station, where the 27-year-old was charged with twelve offences including possess unauthorised pistol, deal with property proceeds of crime < $100000 & < $5000, supply prohibited drug >small & <=indictable quantity and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
The younger man was charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 15 April 2025.
