Search underway for escapee - Broken Hill

Police are appealing for assistance from the public to find an inmate who escaped from a correctional facility at Broken Hill.

Isaiah Johnson, aged 28, was last seen at the facility about 9.40pm yesterday (Sunday 9 March 2025).

It’s believed he left the facility on Gossan Street with another man who has since been arrested.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District were notified and have been conducting inquiries to locate him.

Isaiah is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, with a thin build, 160cm tall, with black hair, black beard and moustache.

Anyone who sees Isaiah is urged not to approach him but to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
