Investigation underway after a body found in Belmore - Strike Force Sandilands

An investigation is underway after a body of a man was found in Sydney’s south west yesterday.
About 9pm on Saturday 15 March 2025, emergency services received a Triple Zero call of an alleged concern for welfare were at a home on Lakemba Street, Belmore.
On arrival, police found the body of a man - believed to be in his 30s - and a 24-year-old man at the scene.
Initial inquiries alleged a number of stab wounds were found on the body.
The man was taken to Concord Hospital for further assessment under police guard.
He was later taken to Campsie Police station for further inquiries.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command, with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Sandilands to commence an investigation into the incident.
