Body found in search for missing woman - Lightning Ridge

A body has been found in the search for a 78-year-old woman who was reported missing to Central North Police District has been found deceased.

The woman was reported missing on Saturday 15 March 2025 in the Lightning Ridge area.

Following an extensive multi-agency search, the woman’s body was found late this afternoon.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing woman.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
