Man charged after investigations into antisemitic graffiti - Strike Force Pearl

A man has been charged over multiple antisemitic graffiti offences across Sydney’s east and south.
On Thursday 30 January 2025, officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were called to multiple locations in Sydney’s east following reports of malicious damage.
Police attended a school on Runic Lane, Maroubra, a nearby home on Hannan Street and, a shopping centre on Bunnerong Road, Eastgardens, where they allegedly located multiple forms of antisemitic graffiti.
On the same day, officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command were called to a home on Sparks Street, Eastlakes, following reports of alleged antisemitic graffiti.
Police established crime scenes at all locations and commenced an investigation into the incidents.
Following initial inquiries, police believe the incidents are linked and detectives attached to Strike Force Pearl took carriage of both investigations.
Following extensive inquiries, about 8am yesterday (Thursday 20 March 2025), strike force detectives arrested a 41-year-old man on Maloney Street, Eastlakes.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized multiple prohibited drugs.
He was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with destroy/damage property intend criminal activity of group, destroy/damage property in company less than/ equal to $2000, take & drive conveyance without consent of owner, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, supply prohibited drug more than small & less than/equal too indictable quantity, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court today (Friday 21 March 2025).
Strike Force Pearl detectives have now arrested 30 people and laid a total of 151 charges.
Investigations under Strike Force Pearl continue.
