Homicide Squad detectives have charged an additional two men over the murder of Jamie Goodworth in Sydney’s west last year.
About 1.20am on Saturday 24 February 2024, officers attached Liverpool City Police Area Command were called to Liverpool Hospital after a man presented with gunshot wounds.
The man, who has since been identified as 32-year-old Jamie Goodworth, was unable to be revived and died a short time later.
Officers attached to State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, with the NSW Crime Commission, established Strike Force Heye to investigate.
Enquiries led police to identify an address in Endesor Park, where detectives believe the shooting took place.
In October 2024, police extradited and charged a man who remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, about 6.35am today (Tuesday 1 April 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group – executed a search warrant in Hinchinbrook, where they arrested a 24-year-old man.
During a search warrant, police seized a mobile phone and Hyundai iLoad which will undergo further forensic testing.
About 6.40am, strike force detectives – with assistance from North West Metropolitan Operational Support Group – executed a search warrant in Middleton Grange, where they arrested another 24-year-old man.
During a search of the Middleton Grange property, police seized mobile phones, a Toyota Hilux, and a small amount of cannabis.
Both men were taken to Cabramatta Police Station, where they were each charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
The men were refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court today (Wednesday 2 April 2025).
