Man charged over public place shooting - Cranebrook

A man will face court over an alleged public place shooting in Sydney’s west last month.
About 11pm on Sunday 16 March 2025, police were patrolling on Parker Street, Penrith, when they stopped a Ute due to driving in a dangerous manner.
When officers approached the vehicle, they located a male passenger with an alleged gunshot wound to his arm.
Police were told the 39-year-old man was riding a bike on The Northern Road, Cranebrook before he was allegedly shot by an unknown man.
The driver - a 43-year-old woman was not injured.
NSW Ambulance were called and the man was treated on scene before being taken to a hospital in a stable condition.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene on The Northern Road, Cranebrook, and commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, with the assistance from Tactical Operations Unit, about 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday 3 April 2025), police arrested a 39-year-old man at a home on Challenger Way, Cranebrook.
During the search, police seized a small quantity of substance – believed to be prohibited drugs – and a replica firearm.
He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with shoot at with intent to murder.
He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Friday 4 April 2025).
