Man charged with multiple alleged domestic violence offences- Cardiff

A man will face court charged over multiple alleged domestic violence related offences in the state’s north.
On Wednesday 2 April 2025, officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District commenced an investigation following reports of multiple alleged domestic violence offences in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle region.
Police were told a 26-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and verbally abused by a man – who is known to her - between Monday 10 March 2025 and Wednesday 2 April 2025 at multiple locations including Gateshead, Windale, Jesmond, and Newcastle.
Following inquiries, about 2.30pm on Friday 4 April 2025, officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District, with the assistance from the Dog Unit, arrested a 40-year-old man on Kelton Street, Cardiff.
He was taken to Waratah Police Station and charged with five counts stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic), three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), two counts of common assault (DV), two counts of armed with intention to commit indictable offence, threaten to distribute intimate image without consent, and two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 5 April 2025).
