Teenager charged over stolen vehicle - Operation Soteria

A teenage boy will face court today charged with allegedly stealing a vehicle in February this year.
Between 4am on Sunday 23 February and 10am on Thursday 27 February 2025, five vehicles were allegedly stolen in the areas of Inverell, Orange and Blayney.
One of the vehicles was later involved in a fatal crash.
About 7pm yesterday, Thursday 10 April 2025, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Dubbo where a 13-year-old boy was arrested.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with; drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and be carried in conveyance without consent of owner (two counts).
He was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court today (Friday 11 April 2025) where he was remanded in custody to re-appear at the same court on Monday 28 April 2025.
Investigations under Operation Soteria continue.
