Sunday, 13 April 2025 07:33:11 AM

Two riders are in hospital after allegedly running a red light and crashing in Greenacre overnight.

About 12.30am today (Sunday 13 April 2025), police were patrolling the Greenacre area when they attempted to stop two motorcycles – allegedly not displaying number plates – riding on the Hume Highway.

The riders allegedly failed to do so and fled from police before going through a red light and crashing into a Subaru sedan at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Stacey Street.

No pursuit was initiated during the incident.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command arrived to find the riders – aged 18 and 21 – with serious leg injuries.

They were both treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in serious but stable conditions.

The driver was uninjured.

Police established a crime scene and an investigation into the incident was commenced.

Inquiries are continuing.
