CCTV released as Drug & Firearms Squad detectives investigate firearm theft in Chipping Norton

Drug & Firearms Squad detectives have released CCTV as part of an appeal for information into the theft of 10 firearms in Chipping Norton earlier this year.
About 7.30pm on Saturday 25 January 2025, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were called to an address on Bon Street in Chipping Norton following reports of a break and enter.
On arrival, police were told the occupants of the home had left on holiday earlier that day when about 3pm they noticed an unknown man on their CCTV via a mobile phone app.
It is alleged a total of five rifles and five pistols – with an estimated value of $11,000 – were stolen from two separate safes.
Local police established a crime scene and commenced initial inquiries before the matter was referred to State Crime Command’s Drug & Firearms Squad under Strike Force Amoco.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as wearing being of Caucasian appearance, between 180cm – 185cm tall, of medium build and is depicted wearing a full-face latex mask to disguise his appearance.
He was also wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, black pants, black shoes and carrying a black duffle bag with white details.
It is also believed the man was travelling in a white Mazda CX5 GT SP with distinct black rims, black side mirrors and sunroof.
