Drugs worth more than $2m seized at Cabramatta - Strike Force Grassy

A man has been charged and more than 300kg of illicit drugs have been seized following an investigation into large-scale drug supply across Sydney’s south-west.

Strike Force Grassy was established by officers attached to the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (South) to target alleged known offenders involved in enhanced indoor cannabis cultivation.

Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant about 8am yesterday (Tuesday 15 April 2025), at a home on Birdwood Avenue, Cabramatta.

During a search of the premises, police seized 311kg of cannabis which has an estimated potential street value of $2,058,000. Police also located cocaine with an estimated potential street value of $125,700, as well as $2100 cash.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with three offences, supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity, and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The man was refused bail and will appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Wednesday 16 April 2025).
