Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man for alleged child abuse material offences under Strike Force Trawler.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
Following extensive inquiries, about 9.30am today (Thursday 24 April 2025), strike force detectives executed a search warrant in Engadine.
During the search, police located and seized electronics relevant to their investigation.
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with possess child abuse material and possessing, controlling, producing, supplying or obtaining child abuse material for use through a carriage service.
The man was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
