Driver charged following fatal crash - Warri

A woman has been charged after a man died in a two-vehicle crash in the state’s south late last year.
About 5.30pm on Thursday 7 November 2024, emergency services were called to the Kings Highway, Warri, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and found a blue Toyota Aurion sedan and a white Volkswagen utility had collided head-on.
The front passenger of the sedan – a 67-year-old man – sustained head injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the sedan – a 66-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the utility - a 72-year-old woman – was taken to Canberra Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following an investigation by the Southern Crash Investigation Unit, on Friday 25 April 2025, police charged the 72-year-old woman with dangerous driving occasioning death - drive manner dangerous, cause bodily harm by wilful neglect in charge of a motor vehicle, negligent driving (occasioning death), and negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm).
She will appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday 7 July 2025.
