Appeal to locate woman missing from Gwynneville

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Wollongong region.

Rebecca Essex, aged 38, was last seen on Foley Avenue, Gwynneville, about 6am on Friday 25 April 2025.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate her.

Police hold concerns for Rebecca’s welfare.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, of thin build with black hair and brown eyes.

Rebecca was last seen wearing a black jacket, black leggings, black thongs and a green backpack and a handbag.

She is known to frequent the Wollongong and Lake Illawarra areas.
