Charges laid over brawl - Tamworth

A man will face court charged following an investigation into a brawl in the state’s north last month.

About 7pm on Saturday 18 May 2024, emergency services were called to Bourne Street, Tamworth, following reports of a brawl.

Upon arrival, police observed approximately 50 people fighting in the roadway, before OC spray was used and the group dispersed.

There were no injuries reported.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, about 6.30pm yesterday (Sunday 2 June 2024), police a home in Tamworth and issued a 46-year-old man a future court attendance notice for affray.

He will appear at Tamworth Local Court today (3 June 2024).

Inquiries are continuing.
