A man is due in Parramatta Bail Court today on 50 charges related to multiple alleged shoplifting offences targeting power tools.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command initiated inquiries after staff from a Greenacre business reported power tools worth an estimated $20,000 had been stolen between 15 January and 7 March this year.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 28-year-old man on Waterloo Road, Bankstown. He was taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with 50 offences,

• Drive while disqualified (17 counts)

• Enter prescribed premises without lawful excuse (17 counts), and

• Larceny (16 counts).

Police will allege in court the man – who is disqualified from driving until May next year – drove his ute to the business on multiple occasions and entered the business despite being banned.

The man, from Greenacre, has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court later today (Saturday 8 June 2024).
