Police officer charged - Central Metropolitan Region

A police officer has been charged with assault following an incident in Sydney’s CBD in November 2022.

Following an internal investigation into an incident on George Street, Sydney on Sunday 13 November 2022, a male probationary constable, attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, has been served a court attendance notice today (Monday 17 June 2024), charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and common assault.

The 29-year-old will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 2 September 2024.

His employment status is under review.
