Man charged over alleged stolen goods - south west NSW

A man has been charged over allegedly stolen goods in the state’s south-west.
About 8am on Sunday 14 April 2024, police were called to a property on Little Billabong Road, Carabost, following reports of people trespassing.
Officers from Murray River Police District attended and commenced and investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, on Wednesday 1 May 2024, a search warrant was executed by the Rural Crime Prevention Team at a home on Tumbarumba Street, Humula, with officers allegedly locating and seizing a large amount of property suspected of being stolen, including three firearms.
Police will allege the items had been stolen from properties at several locations in south west NSW, including Wagga Wagga, Brucedale, Forest Hill and Dubbo.
Yesterday (Wednesday 18 June 2024), a 37-year-old man attended Wagga Police Station and was arrested.
He was charged with 13 offences:
- Hunt game animal on private/public land w/o licence
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not m/v) x 2
- Use class A vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed
- Larceny-T2
- Not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm x 2
- Possess unauthorised firearm-T2 x 2
- Use, supply etc stolen firearm or firearm part-T2 x 2
- Use, supply, acquire or possess defaced firearm-T2
- Possess shortened firearm (not pistol) w/o authority-T2
He was refused bail and appeared before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Wednesday 19 June 2024) and was granted conditional bail to reappear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Monday 1 July 2024.
Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
