Man arrested following hospital assault - Westmead

A man is under police guard after an alleged assault in Sydney’s west.

About 11.30pm yesterday (Friday 21 June 2024), police were called to a hospital in Westmead following reports a man had assaulted staff.

On arrival, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command were told a 39-year-old man had stabbed two male security guards aged 25 and 24, while a third male security guard suffered a dislocated shoulder.

A 29-year-old male nurse also sustained minor injuries.

The man remains under police guard at the hospital.

Inquiries are ongoing.
