Body located following house fire - Central Coast

The body of a man has been located after a house fire on the Central Coast earlier today.

About 5.40am (Tuesday 2 July 2024), emergency services were called to Mercator Parade, St Huberts Island, following reports of a house fire.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police attended and found the property well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.

Following a subsequent search of the home, the body of a man was located.

He is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be a man aged in his 40s.

Two other occupants of the home made it out safely and are being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
