Man charged with alleged firearm and drug offences under Strike Force Broth

A man has been charged with alleged firearm and drug supply offences in Cabramatta under Strike Force Broth.

Strike Force Broth was established by detectives attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command in April 2024 to investigate the alleged criminal activity of a 33-year-old man.

Following extensive inquiries, about 2.50pm yesterday (Thursday 4 July 2024) – with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit – detectives arrested two men at the intersection of John Street and Joseph Street in Cabramatta.

The two men, aged 33 and 53, were taken to Fairfield Police Station.

About 8.30pm the same day, officers – with assistance from South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group – executed two search warrants in Cabramatta and Claymore.

During the searches, police located an ammunition belt, ammunition, mobile phones, various identification cards, and a small quantity of prohibited drugs.

The 33-year-old man was charged with acquire etc firearm – subject to prohibition order, supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess it, supply pistol to person unauthorised to possess it and six drug supply related offences.

He was refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court today (Friday 5 July 2024).

The older man was released pending further inquiries.
