Camden police charge five people over alleged brawl in The Oaks

Police have charged five people for their alleged involvement in a brawl at a hotel in The Oaks last month.

About 7.30pm Monday 24 June 2024, police were called to a hotel on John Street, The Oaks, following reports a group of people were fighting in the hotel.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command arrived and found the group had dispersed and left the scene.

A 62-year-old man with a broken shoulder and a serious head injury was taken to Campbelltown Hospital in a stable condition for treatment.

Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, police arrested four men – aged 39, 62, 34 and 25 years old – and a 27-year-old woman at Narellan Police Station.

All five were charged with affray and common assault.

The 39-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear before Picton Local Court on Thursday 11 July 2024. The 62-year-old and 34-year-old men were granted conditional bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 18 July 2024. The 25-year-old and 27-year-old were also granted conditional bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 25 July 2024.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
