A second person has been charged over a fatal fail to stop crash in Sydney’s west late last month.

About 11.45pm (Sunday 30 June 2024), emergency services were called to Abell Road, Melonba, after reports an injured man was located roadside.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 79-year-old man, however, he died at the scene.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.

Inquiries established that the man had been jogging at the time.

A 32-year-old man was later arrested at Sydney International Airport on Wednesday 10 July 2024. He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged over the matter.

Following ongoing investigations, a 32-year-old woman was today (Wednesday 17 July 2024) arrested at Riverstone Police Station.

She was charged with conceal serious offence, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 5 August 2024.
