Man charged over alleged attempted firearms theft - Central Coast

A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged attempted firearms theft on the Central Coast.

About 12pm on Sunday 30 June 2024, a man allegedly attempted to break into the premises of a firearms dealer at Wyong.

The attempt was unsuccessful, and the man allegedly made two further attempts to break into the premises on Sunday 7 July 2024.

Police from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries by Tuggerah Lakes Police - assisted by Northern Beaches Detectives - a search warrant was executed at a home on Ronald Avenue, Narraweena, on Monday 22 July 2024.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with three counts of break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Wyong Local Court on Wednesday 28 August 2024.
