Woman charged with telecommunications offence - Camden

A woman has been charged with a telecommunications offence over an alleged offensive social media post.

About 6.30pm on Saturday (14 December 2024), police attached to Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports of an offensive social media post.

Following enquiries, about 11.50am yesterday (Thursday 19 December 2024) a 48-year-old woman was issued a future court attendance notice for use carriage service to offend.

She is due to face Picton Local Court on Thursday 6 February 2025.

Police will allege in court the woman made a social media post incorrectly identifying a serving police officer.
