A search a has resumed for a man swept into heavy seas off rocks in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Little Bay Beach about 1pm (Friday 18 April 2025), after a 24-year-old man walking on rocks with friends was swept into the sea by a large wave.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were told the man did not resurface.
A multi-agency search commenced including local police, Marine Area Command, PolAir, Surf Life Saving NSW, Marine Rescue NSW, Ambulance paramedics and Randwick Council lifeguards.
The water search was suspended at 4pm due to deteriorating conditions, but air patrols continued until 6.16pm when they, too, were suspended. Patrols of the beach continued on foot without success.
The search resumed this morning and again involves the same agencies.
