A police vehicle was struck during the pursuit, which was later terminated due to speed and the manner of driving.

About 6.30am, a 37-year-old man was arrested after the hatchback was found on Murriverie Road, North Bondi. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for assessment before being released into police custody.

The man was taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with four offences,

• Steal motor vehicle
