Man charged with murder following woman's death - Erina Creek

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 19-year-old woman on the Central Coast last month.

About 3am on Sunday 23 March 2025, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District were told a 19-year-old woman was last seen on The Entrance Road, Erina.

When she could not be located, detectives commenced an investigation into her whereabouts.

About 3.45pm on Monday 24 March 2025, police located the woman’s body in the water near The Entrance Road, Erina.

The woman’s death was not initially believed to be suspicious.

Following further inquiries, a 53-year-old man was arrested in Surry Hills about 12.20pm today (Monday 21 April 2025).

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with murder and 11 other unrelated domestic violence matters.

The 53-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 22 April 2025).

Police will allege the man had a physical altercation with the victim.
