You can renew your security licence online up to eight weeks before the licence expires via Service NSW.
Once the expiry date passes, you have 90 days to submit your renewal application.
You cannot renew your licence once the 90 days have passed. If you want to continue to work in the security industry, you will need to submit a new application, including evidence that you meet the current security licence course training requirements.
You must present your photograph advice letter in person and have your photograph taken at any Service NSW Centre within 60 days whenever you renew, replace or amend your licence.
Please note: applications to add subclasses or to change your name must be processed and assessed before they can be granted. If your licence is up for renewal, or if your expiry date has passed and you are about to submit a late renewal, complete your renewal BEFORE adding or removing subclasses or changing your name. The system will not process your renewal if you have an outstanding amendment or variation on your licence.
