There are currently over 300 operational LGBTIQ+ Liaison Officers across the state and are identifiable through a distinctive rainbow badge worn on an officer's uniform.
LGBTIQ+ Liaison Officers work to build trust and confidence between the NSW Police Force and LBGTIQ+ communities.
They can support you by providing discrete, confidential, and non-judgemental advice, assistance or referral for all police related matters.
LGBTIQ+ Liaison Officers undertake a range of duties including education within Commands, community engagement, monitoring LGBTIQ+ related events, and assist investigators in LGBTIQ+ related prejudice motivated crime, domestic violence, and criminal matters.
Contacting a GLLO/LGBTIQ+ Liaison Officer
To contact an LGBTIQ+ Liaison Officer, call or attend your local police station and ask to speak with one.
If a LGBTI+ Liaison Officer is unavailable, please do not wait to report crime, report it immediately to your local police and a request of follow up support or referral from a LGBTIQ+ Liaison Officer can be made.
